INSPECTION OF Ox SENSOR

CHECK Ox SENSOR WITH VOLTMETER
(a) Warm up the engine to normal operating
temperatl...~.
(b) Connect the voltmeter to the service connector.
Service connector location: Left fender apron

Connect the positive (
+ )
testing probe to the Ox ter-
minal and negative (-) testing probe to terminal E.
(c) Race the engine at 2,500 rpm for about 90 seconds.
(d)
Maintain engine spee9 at 2,500 rpm.
(e) Check that the needle of the voltmeter fluctuates 8
times or more in 10 seconds within
a -
7 volts.
NOTE:
• If this test is positive, the Ox sensor is OK.
• If not, inspect the other parts, hose connections and wir-
ing of air suction and fuel system feedback control sys-
tem (EC-36).
If no problem is found, replace the Ox sensor.
