INSPECTION OF IGNITION COIL
1. DISCONNECT HIGH TENSION WIRE
2. MEASURE PRIMARY COIL RESISTANCE
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the
positive
(+)
and negative (-) terminals.
Primary coil resistance (cold): 0.5 - 0.7 0
3. MEASURE SECONDARY COIL RESISTANCE
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the
positive
(+)
terminal and high-tension terminal.
Secondary coil resistance (cold): 11.4 - 15.6 kO
