AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - Test
AT-7
HYDRAULIC TEST
PREPARATION
(a)
Warm up the transmission fluid.
(b)
Chock the front wheels.
(c)
Jack up rear of the vehicle and support
it on stands.
(d)
Remove the transmission case test the
plugs and mount hydraulic pressure
gauges.

CAUTION:
(a)
Perform this test at normal operation fluid
temperature (50 - 80°C or 122 -
176°F).
(b)
Measurement can be made with a 1,000 rpm
test, but if tests are to be made at 1,800 and
3,500 rpm, it would be safer to road test or
on a chassis dynamometer because an on-
stand test could be hazardous.

MEASURE GOVERNOR PRESSURE
(a)
Check that the parking brake is not applied.
(b)
Start the engine.
(c)
Shift into
"0"
range and measure the
governor pressures at the speeds specified
in the table.
EVALUATION
If governor pressure is defective:
Line pressure defective
Fluid leakage in governor pressure circuit
Governor valve operation defective
Governor pressure
