11.3.1. DISMANTLING
When dismantling the pump, be careful not to damage the componen-
ts. Avoid reusing the removed gaskets, but replace them.
BEFORE DISASSEMBLING THE PUMP IT MUST
BE STOPPED AND THE MOTOR MUST BE DIS-
CONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
MAKE SURE THAT IT IS NOT EVEN POSSIBLE
TO ACCIDENTALLY RE-ENERGISE THE MOTOR.
RISK OF CRUSHING AND ELECTROCUTION.
THE WORK MUST BE PERFORMED BY TWO
PERSONS.
1. Completely empty the water inside the pump using the drain cap
(193-1). See figure in paragraph 10.5.
2. To replace the motor, act on the screws (50-10) that fasten the
electric motor to its base and remove them. To check or replace
the mechanical seal or the hydraulic part, see from point 7.
3. Then remove the protection (010) and the relative fixing screws
(120-8).
5. Proceed with disassembly of the fixing screw (120-8) of the shaft
on the joint. There are two grooves on the rigid joint (144). Act in
their presence to detach the shaft and joint.
6. Remove the fixing screws (120-3) which hold the motor (12) and
the lantern (051) together. Finally, remove the fixing dowels (130)
of the joint with the motor shaft.
7. To disassemble the hydraulic section, loosen and remove evenly
all the fasteners (120-1) of the pump body (001) with the lantern
(051). Pull out the motor together with the lantern assembly and
impeller.
8. Check if there are parts subject to wear and erosion or other types
of anomalies. Replace the wear ring (107) when the clearance
between the impeller and the ring is approximately 1 mm.
9. Remove the impeller nuts, elastic washers (137-1), flat washers
(137-2) and the impeller itself (021). If rust or encrustations appear
on the impeller which can generate resistance, clean and remove
it delicately.
10. Proceed with uniform removal of the fixings (120-2) of the lantern
(051. If necessary, the guards (010) can also be disassembled.
11. Now it is possible to proceed with removal of the fixed part of the
mechanical seal. It can be removed by working gently from the mo-
tor side with a screwdriver, taking care not to damage the sliding
surface on the pump body side. If rusted or damaged parts are
noticed on the sliding surfaces or in other areas of the seal, replace
them.

11.3.2 ASSEMBLY
Assembly of the pump will take place by following in reverse the pro-
cedure for disassembly, paying attention to the following points:
1. Clean the mechanical seal surfaces with alcohol and a dry, soft
cloth. To insert it, use Teflon pads or other material suitable to avoid
damaging the faces of the mechanical seal or other parts of the
same.
2. Replace the gaskets of the pump body and of the other componen-
ts with new ones. Do not use the same O-rings or gaskets.
3. Replace worn or damaged components. Replace the shim ring
(107-1, 107-2) when the clearance between the impeller and the
ring is approximately 1 mm.
4. Check the motor bearings for smooth rotation. If rotation is difficult
or there are points where rotation slows down, replace the motor
or contact EBARA.
5. Tighten the screws gradually and symmetrically, with the help of a
torque wrench, using the following torque:
M6 = 4.5 Nm
M8 = 11 Nm
M10 = 22 Nm
M12 = 38 Nm
M16 = 93 Nm
M20 = 181 Nm
M24 = 313 Nm
For impeller nuts 048-1 and 048-2, use the following tightening
torques:
Nut A (048-1)
Thread size
Tightening torque (Nm)
M16

M24

M30

5. Secure all the screws and manually check that the pump rotates
uniformly and regularly.

12. DISPOSAL

This product falls within the scope of the directive 2012/19/EU con-
cerning the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE). The appliance must not be disposed of with domestic waste
as it consists of various materials which can be recycled at the ap-
propriate facilities. Obtain information through the municipal authority
regarding the location of the ecological platforms suitable for receiving
the product for disposal and its subsequent correct recycling. It should
