7-4 AC/DC Reactor
AC Input Reactor
When the AC Motor Drive is connected directly to a large-capacity power transformer
(500kVA or above) or when a phase lead capacitor is switched, excess peak currents may occur in the
power input circuit due to the load changes and the converter section may be damaged. To avoid this, it is
recommend using a serial connected AC input reactor at the AC Motor Drive mains input side to reduce
the current and improve the input power efficiency.
Method of set up
AC input reactor sets up between electric power and R, S, T which are at three-phase input side of
AC motor drive in series-connected way. See the figure below:
