5.3.1
The attachments between the chassis frame and the subframe are defined
according to the function of the original vehicle model and the type of body which
will be installed on it.
Proper attachment is very important for good driving and for vehicle safety when
the operations for which it has been designed are being performed. Also, the correct
choice and installation of the connections result in a better and longer preservation
of the chassis frame and subframe.
The vehicles supplied by HMC from factory incorporate a determined number of
mounting brackets or attachment consoles distributed along the chassis frame. To
assemble the body, the Body Builder must use all the consoles available in the chas-
sis. In general, the number of attachment points must be sufficient to enable them
to absorb lateral and braking forces. If required, more consoles can be added, but
in no case must fewer attachment points be used than those incorporated in the
chassis from factory. In this case, the welding rules indicated in this manual must be
complied with.

Care must always be taken to ensure that the number of connection points between
the chassis frame and subframe are sufficient to absorb all longitudinal and trans-
verse forces that occur in the vehicle.
- The connections in the chassis frame of the vehicle are at all times the
- The Body Builder must check the vehicle for correct performance and stability.
