INTRODUCTION
PRELIMINAR STUDIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION
Also, in order not to exceed the maximum weight distribution on the axles or the
permitted position of centre of gravity, and thus avoid the reconfiguration or deac-
tivation of the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control system), HMC recommends some
maximum values for the rear overhang that must be respected, depending on the
wheelbase (WB).

Another variable to consider is the elongation that can be performed on the rear
overhang of the vehicle depending on the trailer connection point. For this reason,
the fact that the maximum permitted trailer load will vary depending on the length
that exists between the centre of the rear wheel and the point of the trailer hitch
must be taken into account. Thus, when extending the overhang of the chassis, care
should be taken to ensure that the maximum permissible load for the trailer is ap-
propriate for the new dimension. In each case, the value of the maximum permissible
load for the trailer should be reduced, adapting it to the new situation. It is also pos-
sible that the use of a trailer is not allowed.
