MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION
4.12.5
In vehicles with a high body installed on the chassis, such as box body, the in-
stallation of a wind deflector on the cabin is recommended, in order to save fuel.
The wind deflectors should be properly adjusted, because the degree of resistance
of the air depends on correct installation, and thus the higher or lower fuel con-
sumption.
Additional holes in the cab roof for mounting a wind deflector are not permitted.
When national rules so provide, these facilities must be controlled by the compe-
tent approval agency.
When fitting an air deflectors, a strong adhesive must be used. Glue must only be
applied to the permitted areas.

When installing a wind deflector on the roof of a van, the Body Builder should
move the antenna to another location. The remaining hole should be properly
covered, to ensure it is waterproof.
