INTRODUCTION
PRELIMINAR STUDIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION
If a long tilt platform is necessary, then from the very beginning, it is better to
select a vehicle with an adequate wheelbase, rather than have a long overhang.
Care should be taken not to exceed the maximum permissible load on the rear axle
of the vehicle. It is also very important to observe the minimum load on the front
axle, to ensure proper steerability of the vehicle.
Check that the main dimensions of the final vehicle are within the permissible limits.
Connections between the chassis frame and the subframe must be elastic at the
front end and stiff at the rear end of the vehicle, and allow the additional structure
to contribute more effectively towards the rigidity of the assembly.
The rear tilt pivot must be installed on the subframe and as close as possible to the
anchor point of the rear suspensions. It contributes to a better stability of the ve-
hicle during operation of the platform and protects the rear overhang against heavy
loads.
The Body Builder is responsible for monitoring the safety and stability of the
vehicle. Stability must be checked in every operating condition of the tilt platform.
The user of the vehicle is responsible for the security and stability of the vehicle
during the use of the tilt platform. It is therefore imperative for the Body Builder to
provide clear instructions about superstructure function. These instructions must
always be carried inside the vehicle.
- Interventions in the vehicle must comply with all possible requirements laid
- The guidelines contained in this manual and the manufacturer's recommenda-
