IINTRODUCTION
PRELIMINAR STUDIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION
The coupling flanges adapted to the PTOs supplied by HMC, which are connected
to the gearbox, have the following dimensions:
Fig. 6-157 SPBGC61_005 PTO - flange dimensions
The maximum bending moment at the PTO transmission flange must be 15 Nm. This
bending moment is due to the weight of the pump (or any other device), which is
connected to the coupling flange of the PTO.
If the device generates a bending moment greater than the maximum allowed, an
additional fixing bracket must be installed to better withstand these forces.
Simultaneous operation of more than one PTO
When simultaneously operating two or more PTOs that may be connected to the ve-
hicle at the same time, the torque supplied must be controlled, as this must be shared
between the two devices.
An example of combined PTO could be a dump truck with a snow plough device in-
stalled at the front. In this case, the dump platform needs a PTO dependent on the
clutch whereas the snow low device needs a PTO independent of the clutch to work
while driving.
