7.3.3
The electrical system consists of several types of connectors. When working on the
electrical system, it is important to use the same type of components used in the
basic vehicle, to avoid malfunctions. The use of components supplied or approved
by HMC is recommended.
The connectors consist of two parts. One is the socket where the vehicle wiring is
installed. The other part is the counterpart in which the Body Builders must install
the terminals.
Connections to pins and terminals must be of a protected type and resistant to at-
mospheric agents. Components of the same type and properties as those originally
used on the vehicle must be used.
The Body Builder is forbidden to make connections in the vehicle electrical system
through splices in wires or directly in the control units. HMC will not approve the
work carried out on the vehicle if this regulation is not followed.
The Body BUilder is only allowed to make connections in the enabled points for
this purpose.
One important connector installed in the vehicle as an option is the trailer socket.
On request, HMC vehicles will install a 13-pole trailer socket in accordance with
standard (DIN/ISO 11446).
