Wheel dimensions and clearances

Always using the correct tyre size is a decisive factor for the adequate performance
of the vehicle. The maximum permissible load for each tyre must also be respected,
as must the distances between the tyre and other elements of the vehicle.
Wheel dimensions
HMC particularly recommends using only the size and model tyre authorised for
each vehicle.

NOTICE
- The rules in force in each country should be kept in mind. These can vary
depending on the country in which the vehicle is approved.
- If a non-recommended tyre has been fitted to the vehicle, the VDC system
could suffer a malfunction because the sensors for wheel speed are specifi-
cally configured to the proper wheel size.
- The suitable size and type of a tyre can be found in the registration certificate
of each approved vehicle.
CAUTION
If the directives given in this manual are not followed, this could damage the
brakes, undercarriage parts, the tyres themselves, etc.
WARNING
Never exceed the capacity load of the tyre or the speed recommended. If you do,
the tyre could suffer a blowout, which would cause loss of vehicle control. This
could result in an accident, causing injury to people or damage to the vehicle
itself.
More information on the characteristics of the tyres can be obtained from the
technical specifications of the vehicle or from the tyre manufacturers themselves.
See General Book, chapter 2.4 "Contact possibilities".
