INTRODUCTION
PRELIMINAR STUDIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION
Ideally, the Body Builder must consider using a chassis with a short wheelbase to
reduce the risk of oscillation occurring in the chassis. The rear overhang must also
be as short as possible for the same reason.
Subframe features
The subframe for tank bodies should be sturdy and rigid, to prevent large torsional
movements of the upper body. It must extend through the entire chassis frame and
should be attached as close as possible to the front axle.
It will be necessary to reinforce the subframe at the support points of the tank,
since the high point loads could deform it. Likewise, it is helpful to install crossbars
in these points, to prevent twisting due to the loads transmitted by the body.

features and design".
After mounting the body it is essential to check whether there are vibrations or oth-
er harmful factors when the vehicle is travelling. Vibration can be countered by the
proper arrangement of the subframe on the chassis frame and by properly arrang-
ing the tank supports.
Type of connections
At least all the consoles available in the chassis from factory must be used. If
necessary more consoles can be added, but under no circumstances should fewer
attachment points be used than those incorporated in the chassis frame from fac-
tory.
The installation of tanks on the vehicle, like any other structure very rigid to torsion,
should generally be made by means of F_2 flexible connections or very flexible F_3
connections at the front, in order to make the movements produced in the body and
the movements produced in the chassis independent of each other. This provides
the chassis frame with sufficient flexibility to gradually absorb any torsion move-
ments that occur due to imperfections in the road when driving the vehicle, and at
the same time it avoids subjecting the body to high torsion.
