MOUNTING AND CONSTRUCTION

When increasng the height of the roof, the cross-beams should be suitably
reinforced with gussets to ensure a rigid connection to flexion. If the roof
height has been considerably increased, it may be appropriate to increase the
profile section of the cross beams, so as to also increase the inertia moment.

The maximum permissible roof load will be reduced depending on the increment
of the roof height.
CAUTION
Special attention should be paid to not exceeding the maximum permissible height
of the Centre of Gravity, as this could have significant consequences on the oper-
ation of the vehicle stability system (VDC).

The new roof must be securely mounted and sealed on all sides.
Installation of equipment on the roof
NOTICE
To obtain more information about the installation of equipment on the vehicle
roof,
see chapter 4.12.8 "Equipment installed on roof".
Installing a roof hatch
A roof hatch might be installed, it this will not affect the tightness and strength of
the vehicle. The cut made through a perimeter frame should be strengthened
accordingly.
