IRIG-B time synchronization module IRIG-B

Introduction
The IRIG-B time synchronizing module is used for accurate time synchronizing of
the IED from a station clock.
The precision time protocol (PTP, IEC/IEEE 61850-9-3) input shall be used for
synchronizing when IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE is used.
Electrical (BNC) and optical connection (ST) for 0XX and 12X IRIG-B support.
Design
The IRIG-B module has two inputs. One input is for the IRIG-B that can handle
both a pulse-width modulated signal (also called unmodulated) and an amplitude
modulated signal (also called sine wave modulated). The other is an optical input
type ST for optical pulse-width modulated signal (IRIG-B 00X). The IRIG-B
module is mounted as a mezzanine card on the Analog digital conversion module
(ADM).
