ANAGEMENT
An SNMP trap is an asynchronous report of a MIB event to the Network
Management Station; it is sent to the NMS address. Table 61 lists the
following traps the CoreBuilder 9000 ATM Enterprise Switch: currently
supports.

You can manage the CoreBuilder 9000 ATM Enterprise Switch via
SNMP-based external network management applications running on a
workstation. (See Figure 31.) One such application is the 3Com
Transcend
Enterprise Manager. It is the recommended graphical user
®
interface tool for central management of medium-scale to large-scale
ATM networks.
Because the agent is standard-based, you can use other SNMP-based
applications, such as SunNet Manager and HP OpenView , provided that
the MIB is correctly installed at the management station.
Description
Sent whenever an ATM Interface
Module is inserted or removed from the
chassis
Sent whenever a power supply is
disconnected, inserted, or removed from
the chassis
Sent whenever the temperature on the
ATM Switch Fabric Module exceeds a
certain hard-coded limit.
