SSCOP
Parameter
Description
MaxCC
Maximum value for the state variable VT(CC),
corresponding to the maximum number of
transmissions of a BGN, END, or RS PDU
MaxPD
Maximum acceptable value for the state
variable VT(PD) before sending a POLL PDU
and resetting VT(PD) to zero
MaxSTAT
Maximum number of list elements
permissible in a STAT PDU
Window
Sequence number of the first SD or SDP PDU
not allowed by the receiver
Detection of Failure in Peer QSAAL
The time required to detect a failure in a peer QSAAL, that is, the QSAAL
in a neighboring ATM Enterprise Switch is a function of the SSCOP
timers.

A smart engine in the CoreBuilder 9000 ATM Enterprise Switch called the
Call Control manages the signaling protocol. It establishes, maintains, and
clears virtual connections between two ATM interfaces. The Call Control
sits on top of the signaling protocol in a layered model and handles the
procedures to establish, maintain, and clear connection, and add or drop
a party to or from a multipoint call and error conditions.
The Call Control is also responsible for smart allocation and distribution of
the Enterprise Switch resources (QOS, Traffic Parameters, VPI/VCI)
between the different clients. As part of the signaling procedures, the Call
Control interfaces with the CoreBuilder 9000 ATM Enterprise Switch
hardware that resides on the interface module.
