The LEC sends unknown, multicast and broadcast frames to the BUS for
distribution to other clients. The LE standard limits the amount of
unknown unicast frames sent to the BUS. The address resolution
mechanism is used during the initialization process to provide the ATM
address of the BUS for unknown, multicast, and broadcast traffic, and
connection management provides a point-to-point VCC over which to
send such frames. The BUS sets up a point-to-multipoint connection for
distributing the received frames to all the ELAN members. The BUS sends
all flooded unicast frames, broadcast, and multicast frames over its
Multicast Forward VCC.
