CAUTION: Make sure that the CoreBuilder 9000 ATM Enterprise Switch
is properly grounded before you begin.
The following items are required for loading the software:

PC 486 or higher, running MS-Windows 3.1 or higher with
MS-Terminal emulator software such as PCPlus.

RS-232 port and cable

3Com's CoreBuilder 9000 current software release
Set your PC terminal emulation to the following parameters:

8 data bit

1 stop bit

no parity

no XON/XOFF

9600 Baud

Binary transfer set to Xmodem/CRC. (that is, Setting > binary transfer
> Xmodem/CRC)
Connect your PC to the RS-232 Control Port of the ATM Switch Fabric
Module.
If you have two Switch Fabric Modules installed in your CoreBuilder 9000
chassis, you must put the standby Switch Fabric Module into Suspend
Mode using the following procedure:
1 Enter the LMA command 1 4 3 2 at the main menu prompt. The
following prompt is displayed:
Put standby switch to suspend mode?
2 Enter y.
