Securing your XT Series
Procedure
1. Access the PIN settings. From the XT Series web interface, select Administrator
Settings > Utilities > PIN Protect Settings. From the endpoint's main menu, select
Configure > Advanced > Utilities > PIN Protect Settings.
2. Select Advanced Settings or Administrator to set or change the administrator's PIN
code.
3. Select Basic Settings to set or change the user's PIN code.
4. Enter the current PIN code. The default PIN is 1234.
5. Enter your new 4 digit PIN code, and re-enter if required.
6. From the web interface only, select Save.

About this task
By default, you can connect remotely from the web to your Avaya Scopia
disable remote web management of the XT Series completely, or restrict it so that only a range of
IP addresses can access this device.
This section also shows how to change the web access username and password. We strongly
recommend that you change the default credentials first time you access the XT Series remotely,
described as part of the procedure below.

If configuring from the endpoint, you must first enable advanced configuration, as described in
Enabling Advanced Maintenance on the XT Series
To modify the PIN remotely, you must be connected via HTTPS (see below).
