This section describes how to configure inter-VLAN proxy ARP so that sub-VLANs in a super-
VLAN can communicate.

Applicable Environment
The hosts in different sub-VLANs of a super-VLAN cannot communicate. To ensure that the
hosts in different sub-VLANs of a super-VLAN can communicate, you can enable inter-VLAN
proxy ARP on the VLANIF interface of the super-VLAN.
Using proxy ARP to implement interworking between VLANs saves more IP addresses than
configuring a VLANIF interface for each VLAN.

Run the display arp network net-number net-mask [ dynamic | static ] [ | { begin |
exclude | include } regular-expression ] command to check the dynamic ARP mapping
table on a specified network segment.
Run the display arp statistics command to check the statistics on ARP entries, including
the total number of ARP entries, the number of dynamic ARP entries, the number of static
ARP entries, and the number of ARP entries configured on the interface.
Run the display arp vpn-instance vpn-instance-name [ dynamic | static ] [ | { begin |

specified VPN instance.
