9 BPDU Tunnel Configuration

9.1 Introduction to the BPDU Tunnel

This section describes the concept of the BPDU tunnel.
Definition of the BPDU Tunnel
BPDUs are Layer 2 protocol packets. As shown in
format defined in IEEE802.3 and are transmitted in multicast mode.
BPDUs are usually used to transmit the STP information. The path used to transparently transmit
BPDUs on an Internet service provider (ISP) network is called a Layer 2 protocol tunnel or a
BPDU tunnel.
The S9300 can transmit packets of the following protocols:
