In this case, all VLANs can communicate, and packets of different VLANs are forwarded along
different paths. Thus, load balancing is implemented.

An MST region consists of several switches in the LAN and the network segments between
the switches. A LAN can comprise several directly or indirectly connected MST regions.
You can group several switches into an MST region by using MSTP configuration
commands. In

MSTI
Multiple spanning trees can be generated in an MST region. Each spanning tree is
independent of one another and maps a VLAN. Such a spanning tree is called an MSTI. In

8-4, the MST region D0 has three MSTIs: MSTI0, MSTI1 and MSTI2.
