9 BPDU Tunnel Configuration
To meet the preceding conditions, you can configure BPDU tunnels on the network devices on
the PSN of the ISP. The BPDU tunnels then transparently transmit BPDUs between branches
of different user networks.

9.2 BPDU Tunnel Features Supported by the S9300

This section describes the BPDU tunnel features supported by the S9300.
The S9300 supports the following BPDU tunnels:

As shown in
networks connected to the same PE belong to different LANs, namely, LAN-A and LAN-B.
BPDUs sent from user networks are not tagged. A PE device needs to identify the LAN that a
received BPDU belongs to. BPDUs of a user network in LAN-A must be forwarded to other
user networks in LAN-A, but cannot be forwarded to user networks in LAN-B. In addition,
BPDUs cannot be processed by the network devices of the ISP.
One solution to the port-based BPDU tunnel is to configure different roles for the devices of the
ISP and user networks.
