7 ARP Configuration
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface vlanif vlan-id
The VLANIF interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
arp-proxy enable
Routed proxy ARP is enabled on the interface.
After enabling routed proxy ARP on the S9300, you need to reduce the aging time of ARP entries
so that invalid ARP entries expire sooner and the number of packets sent to the S9300 is reduced.
You can use the arp expire-time expire-time command to set the aging time of ARP entries.

7.5 Configuring Intra-VLAN Proxy ARP

This section describes how to configure intra-VLAN proxy ARP so that isolated hosts in a VLAN
can communicate.

Run the display arp [ all ] command to check all the ARP mapping tables, including static
and dynamic ARP entries.
Run the display arp dynamic [ | { begin | exclude | include } regular-expression ]
command to check the dynamic ARP mapping table.
Run the display arp interface interface-type interface-number [ vid vlan-id ] [ | { begin
| exclude | include } regular-expression ] command to check the ARP mapping table on a
specified interface.
Run the display arp network net-number net-mask [ dynamic | static ] [ | { begin |
exclude | include } regular-expression ] command to check the dynamic ARP mapping
table on a specified network segment.
Run the display arp statistics command to check the statistics on ARP entries, including
the total number of ARP entries, the number of dynamic ARP entries, the number of static
ARP entries, and the number of ARP entries configured on the interface.
Run the display arp vpn-instance vpn-instance-name [ dynamic | static ] [ | { begin |
exclude | include } regular-expression ] command to check the ARP mapping table of a
specified VPN instance.
