6 MAC Address Table Configuration
mac-limit action { discard | forward }
The action to be taken on the packets when the number of learned MAC addresses reaches the
limit is set.
By default, the packets received after the number of learned MAC addresses reaches the limit
are directly discarded.
Step 5 Run:
mac-limit alarm { disable | enable }
The alarm generated when the number of learned MAC addresses reaches the limit is enabled
or disabled.
By default, an alarm is generated when the packets received after the number of learned MAC
addresses reaches the limit.

6.4.3 Limiting MAC Address Learning Based on VLANs

Context
Do as follows on the S9300 where you need to limit MAC address learning.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
vlan vlan-id
The VLAN view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
mac-limit maximum max
The maximum number of MAC addresses learned on the VLAN is set.
By default, the MAC address learning is not limited.
Step 4 Run:
mac-limit action forward
The S9300 is configured to forward packets when the number of learned MAC address reaches
the limit but not to add new MAC addresses to the MAC address table.
Step 5 Run:
mac-limit alarm { disable | enable }
The alarm generated when the number of learned MAC addresses reaches the limit is enabled
or disabled.
