3.5  Configuring TimeKeeper
1.
Define the Hostname, making sure that it is different from its trusted group server. See
"NTP Servers: Adding, Configuring, Deleting" on page 111.

Disable NTP if enabled.

Manually set the time or use NTP to set the system time.

Under the Autokey tab of the Edit NTP Services window, enable:

Using the NTP Server containing the IFF Group/Client Key, copy the Group/Client key.

Paste this Group/Client key into the Autokey Groupkey text box.

For all NTP Stratum-2 servers and higher stratum numbers, under the Stratum-1 tab in the
Edit NTP Services window configure the NTP Stratum-1 references:

In the NTP Servers panel of the main window, add an NTP server and enable the Autokey
option box. See "NTP Servers: Adding, Configuring, Deleting" on page 111.

Wait for NTP to synchronize to the NTP References provided.

3.5.1

Has TimeKeeper been activated?

FSMLabs' TimeKeeper module comes pre-installed with every SecureSync System Software Ver-
sions 5.2.0 or higher.
The TimeKeeper license must be activated by applying a
from Spectracom, either at the time when a SecureSync unit is ordered, or later. For more inform-
ation, see "Applying a License File" on page 276.
To find out if the Timekeeper license on your SecureSync has been activated:
1.
In the Web UI, Select TOOLS > Upgrade/Backup .
2.
In the System Configuration Panel, check the bottom row, under Option :

Enable Autokey —Check the box.
Autokey Passphrase —Enter your Group members NTP Autokey password.
Select Certificate Type to Generate —Select Client to enable Client only.
Disable Enable Stratum 1 Operation.
Disable Enable Stratum 1 1PPS.

OPT-TKL TimeKeeper
means that the TimeKeeper license has been activated, i.e.
the license key has been purchased and applied.
b.
If there is no entry under Option , the TimeKeeper license has not been activated.
