Failure of the integrated patient-gas measurement
module (PGM)
WARNING
Risk due to gas measurement failure
If the gas measurement fails, the patient can no longer be adequately monitored.
► Check the sample line and the water trap for damage or blockages. Pay
attention to the replacement intervals.
► Replace the patient-gas measurement module.
► Ensure corresponding substitute monitoring.
● Arrange for appropriate substitute monitoring conforming to ISO 80601-2-55.
12.7.1
Replacing the patient-gas measurement module (PGM)
Contact service personnel to replace the PGM.
Prerequisite:
– There is no patient connected.
– The device is switched off.
– The device is disconnected from the power supply. To do this, disconnect the
power plug.
– The water trap has been removed.
WARNING
Incorrect gas measurement
Faulty or non-functional PGMs can cause incorrect gas measurements. As a result,
the patient could be put at risk.
► Have the PGM replaced by service personnel.
