Permissible hose configurations
Breathing hoses, sample line, filters, etc. must be arranged carefully and
adapted to the patient, particularly for neonates and pediatric patients. For further
information see: "CO
page 321.
The permissible hose configurations are marked with an "X" in the following table:

A breathing system filter or an HME filter
between Y-piece and patient; sample line

nector as close as possible to the
patient
– Extract the sample gas at a suitable
connector.
– If no filter can be used at the expira-
tory port (e.g., if there is intrinsic
PEEP due to Air trapping), reprocess
the breathing system after every
patient.
Perform the reprocessing in accor-
dance with the reprocessing instruc-
tions supplied with the product.
