Operation New case The start up dialogue appears by touching the start button on the screen (located in the bottom right hand corner) • Select the required profi le – one of 3 on the screen. The default profi le is in dark green.
Operation Hypoxic guard function (SORC) The Perseus A500 is fi tted with a hypoxic guard function (SORC). This is an electronic minimum delivery system that guarantees at least 25% O whenever N O is used as the carrier gas. This prevents the delivery of hypoxic gas mixtures.
Operation External fresh gas outlet The Perseus A500 has an external fresh gas outlet to facilitate the use of non rebreathing systems such as an Ayres T piece. • Prepare the circuit in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. • Attach the circuit to the external fresh gas outlet on the Perseus A500.

Emergency Scenarios Gas supply failure If the central gas supply fails, the message No O, O or AIR delivery appears on the screen. Air or O will be delivered in place of the gas mixture previously delivered; the amount of fresh gas (l/min) will remain the same.
Cleaning Disassembling the breathing system 1. Unscrew and dispose of sample line. 2. Remove water trap. 3. Disassemble CO absorber: a. CLIC absorber (single use) Or b. Reusable CO absorber: i. Remove the CO absorber from the breathing system. ii. Remove and dispose of the soda lime dust fi lter. iii.
