Replacing the SMB battery pack
Use this procedure to replace the SMB battery pack.

Note
There are different variants of SMB units and batteries. The variant with the
3-pole battery contact has longer lifetime for the battery.
It is important that the SMB unit uses the correct battery. Make sure to order the
correct spare parts. Do not replace the battery contact!
Action
DANGER
Turn off all electric power, hydraulic and pneumat-
ic pressure supplies to the robot and for the track
motion.
Position first the carriage in the calibration posi-
tion (align the synchronization gauges).
Switch off the power on the SMB box.
Open the SMB box and locate the battery.
Cut the plastic straps.
Unplug the 2 wires cable from the board and re-
move the battery pack.
Place the new battery pack, plug the connector
on the board, and secure the pack with straps.
Close the SMB box, switch on the power.
Update the revolution counters of the axis.
