Alternator pulley: Removal - Refitting

Kit for replacing the alterna-
tor idler pulleys.
Equipment required
refrigerant charging station
Tightening torquesm
alternator pulley
When replacing the accessories belt, it is necessary to
replace the alternator free wheel pulley if it is supplied
as a spare part with the accessories belt.
Parts always to be replaced:
- any belt removed,
- the accessories tensioning roller,
- the accessories fixed roller,
- the bolts of the tensioning and fixed rollers,
- the alternator free wheel pulley, if supplied with the
accessories belt.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
- the accessories belt (see 11A, Top and front of
engine, Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting,
page 11A-13) .
a Drain the refrigerant circuit using a refrigerant
charging station (see Refrigerant circuit: Drain-
ing - Filling) (62A, Air conditioning).
STARTING - CHARGING
82 N.m
a Remove:
- the air conditioning compressor (see Compressor:
Removal - Refitting) (62A, Air conditioning),
- the alternator (see 16A, Starting - Charging, Al-
ternator: Removal - Refitting, page 16A-1) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Place the alternator in a vice with jaws.
a Fit the splined socket (1) from the kit (Mot. 1732) (2)
in the alternator pulley.
