AIRBAG SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)
Step
1
CHECK POOR CONTACT.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect
the battery ground cable, and wait more than 20
seconds.
2) Confirm that the connector that is between
the airbag control module and the passenger's
side warning box is securely connected.

CHECK AIRBAG MAIN HARNESS.
1) Disconnect the connector (AB6) from airbag
control module.
2) Connect the battery ground terminal and
turn the ignition switch to ON.
NOTE:
Neither of ON/OFF illuminates when it is nor-
mal.

CHECK AIRBAG MAIN HARNESS.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Remove the passenger's side warning box
and disconnect the connector (i116).
3) Connect the connector (1U) in the test har-
ness U to connector (AB6).
4) Measure the resistance between connec-
tors (2U) and (4U) in the test harness U and
chassis ground.

CHECK THE AIRBAG HARNESS.
1) Connect the connector (1U) in the test har-
ness U to connector (AB6).
2) Connect the connectors (7U) and (8U) in the
test harness U.
3) Connect the battery ground terminal and
turn the ignition switch to ON.

CHECK THE AIRBAG HARNESS.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Measure the resistance between connec-
tors (2U) and (4U) in the test harness U and the
connector (i116).

(4U) No. 17 — (i116) No. 6:

CHECK BODY HARNESS.
1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2) Measure the voltage between connector
(i116) and chassis ground.
