Possible Cause
The monitor does not recognize
the sensor connected as valid.
A persistent artifact is detected.
The pulse amplitude is too low
due to one of the following
conditions:
• Poor perfusion (shock).
• Low body temperature.
The monitor has not been able
to compute a valid measurement
within the last 30 seconds
because of unstable
measurement conditions.
• Inconsistent light level
detected by sensor.
• Excess ambient light detected.
The sensor cable is not
connected to the MultiMed pod.
A Nellcor Oximax pod is
connected.

Suggested Action
• Check for a defective or an unapproved
sensor.
• Replace the sensor.
• Contact the hospital's technical
personnel or DrägerService.
• Make sure the SpO
attached to the patient, patient is not
moving, and all cables are properly
connected.
• Contact DrägerService.
• Check the patient and treat, if
necessary.
• Make sure the SpO
attached to the patient and all cables
are properly connected.
• Relocate the sensor to another
extremity.
• Contact DrägerService.
• Make sure the SpO
attached to the patient at a site free of
patient motion and all cables are
properly connected.
• Contact DrägerService.
• Attache the SpO
patient.
• Remove or shade any external sources
of light entering the sensor.
• Contact DrägerService.
• Make sure that the cables are securely
connected.
• Check for defective sensor.
• Disconnect the Nellcor Oximax pod and
connect the Masimo SET pod.
