This command is used to configure the username of local and RADIUS authentication. Use the no form of
this command to restore the username to the client's MAC address.

Default
By default, the username is the client's MAC address.

Usage Guideline
This command is used to configure the username used in the authentication of MAC address users. The
username is used in the authentication via both the local database and remote servers. If the command is
not configured, the username for authentication of the MAC address user is formatted based on the MAC
address.

Switch(config)# mac-auth username alpha
Switch(config)#
Specifies the username for MAC authentication. The length of the
string cannot be over 16 characters.
