6.13 NC File Operation Menus

6.13.14.9 Block Password Disable

Normal operation
(1) Highlight POU to be disabled.
(2) Press the [Block Password Disable] menu.
(3) This displays the block password disable screen for the selected POU.
(4) Input the block password set in the selected POU.
(5) Press the [Execute] menu and close the block password screen.
Refer to "6.15.11 Block Password Disable screen" for block password disable screen.
Abnormal operation
The following describes the details of error messages displayed when pressing [Block Password Disable] menu and remedy.
Refer to "6.1.4 Language" for program language that can be displayed on ladder screen.
Error message
Block password cannot be unlocked for
the POU selected.
Please select a POU that was created
using the programming language sup-
ported by the ladder screen.

6.13.14.10 PWD Lock for All Data

This sets all files and blocks with passwords to the password not entered state for all.
Refer to " Locking the password for all data" for details.
Abnormal operation
This following describes the details of error messages displayed on POU LIST screen after locking all the passwords and
corrective action.
Error message
A program locked with the file password
is included, so the list of POUs cannot
be displayed.
Failed to read out: language settings do
not match. Go to the GX Works2 Setting
screen, and set the project language to
be the same as that used to create the
ladder.
Symbolic information and program file
do not match, or symbolic information
and PLC parameters were not read out
at the same time. The project can not be
read out: the project is in an uncompiled
status.
Failed to read/write the project. The fol-
lowing may be the possible causes:
 The project data is corrupted.
 Insufficient memory
 A ladder instruction not specified by
this product is included.
 Memory capacity is insufficient.
 The selected project is read-only.
Device points set in the parameters and
device points in NC do not match.
The reading from PLC or writing to PLC
is suspended.
Error details
This message is displayed if other than POU
with the following conditions is highlighted.
 Created in a program language that can be
displayed on ladder screen
 Locked with block password
Error details
When there is at least one file with file password
locked in current project.
This message is displayed when a language of
a project stored in CNC and CNC language pa-
rameter do not match.
This message is displayed in the following cas-
es.
 Symbolic information of a project with labels
stored in CNC differ from the program file.
 When executing "Open" with [Symbolic Infor-
mation] checked and [Parameter] - [PC/Net-
work] unchecked.
This message is displayed when a project was
not read/written.
This message is displayed when the device
points set in the parameter does not match the
device points of the CNC.

Remedy
Highlight POU that is locked with block pass-
word and created in a program language that
can be displayed on ladder screen, then press
the "Block Password Disable" menu key.
Corrective Action
Disable all the file password on Password Dis-
able screen.
Set the CNC language parameter to be the
same as that of project language, and read
again.
Check and store only program files that match
symbolic information.
Store the PC parameters of projects with sym-
bolic information in CNC, then execute "Open"
with [Symbolic Information] and [Parameter] -
[PC/Network] checked in the list.
Check the program stored in the CNC.
After having formatted the storage area once,
you need to review the number of device points
in PC parameter and multi-project parameter,
and rewrite the ladder again.
