6.6.3 Passwords for PLC Data
Passwords are set on some PLC data to protect PLC data.
Password that can be used with PLC on-board are as follows:

Do not use the symbols "@", "^", "」 「 `", and "」 「|" because they may not be input with PLC on-board although they can
be used with GX Works2.
6.6.3.1 Passwords for PLC Data Files
A file password is set for each file in PLC data.
A file password for PLC data stored in the NC can be temporarily cleared by the PLC on-board.
Note
(1) PLC on-board cannot be used to register, change, or delete file passwords.
Use GX Developer (for a project created with GX Developer or PLC on-board) or GX Works2 (for a project created with
GX Works2) to operate.
Refer to "5.12 File Password Function" for GX Works2.
File password attributes
File passwords have write attributes (writes allowed/not allowed) and read attributes (reads allowed/not allowed). The
following table describes the operation restrictions corresponding to these attributes.

Restricted operation
PLC data cannot be overwritten, deleted or changed after editing circuits.
In addition to the preceding restrictions, PLC data cannot be read or viewed.
