Installing the 19" Chassis

There are two types of chassis; the controlling (with the CC-CP00 installed) and
the expansion (that does not have the CPU blade installed). As discussed in
other chapters, multiple chassis can be linked together to expand the port size
of the system.
3.5.1

Unpacking the Equipment

Inspect the equipment for any physical damage. If you are not sure
about the function of a component, review the associated information
within this manual. Contact your authorized NEC Sales
Representative if you have additional questions. Note that the chassis
does not initially contain any blades.
Make sure you have appropriate tools for the job, including: a test set,
a punch down tool, and a digital voltmeter.
Ensure that you have a building plan showing common equipment,
extensions, the Telco demarcation and earth ground location before
you start installation. Be sure to properly plan your installation site and
that you are familiar with the installation safety precautions. If you
have not done that, please do so now. Refer to
Preparation and MDF/IDF Construction on page

Before Installation

Before installing the chassis check the following:
Ensure that the PSU is OFF and that the power cord is
disconnected from the AC outlet.
When installing the blades, do not touch the soldered surfaces as
this may cause damage.
