11. Remove the power unit. See steps 11–17
in "Removing the power unit (remote
control model)" (7-14).
Installing the power unit (remote
control model)
Make sure to install the shift rod and shift link
onto the bottom cowling before installing the
power unit. See "Shift link and shift rod" (9-
11).
Do not reuse a gasket, always replace it
with a new one.
1. Clean the power unit mating surface, and
then install the dowels 1 and a new gas-
ket 2.
2. Install the power unit 3, and then tighten
the bolts 4 to the specified torque in 2
stages and in the order 1, 2, and so on.

Power unit mounting bolt 4:
1st: 21 N·m (2.1 kgf·m, 15.5 ft·lb)
2nd: 21 N·m (2.1 kgf·m, 15.5 ft·lb)
TIP:
Tighten the bolts to the same torque in both
stages.
3. Install the driven sprocket cover 5 and
oil dipstick 6.
4. Install the apron 7, and then tighten the
screw 8 to the specified torque.
