23 N·m (2.3 kgf·m, 17.0 ft·lb)

Installing the exhaust cover

Do not reuse a gasket or O-ring, always
replace it with a new one.
1. Install the dowels 1, a new gasket 2,
the exhaust cover 3, the thermostat 4,
a new gasket 5, and the thermostat
cover 6, and then tighten the bolts 7 to
the specified torques in 2 stages and in
the order 1, 2, and so on.

Exhaust cover and thermostat cover bolt
7:
1st: 6 N·m (0.6 kgf·m, 4.4 ft·lb)
2nd: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 8.9 ft·lb)
2. Install a new O-ring 8 and the exhaust
cover anode 9 to the anode plug 0, and
then tighten the screw A to the specified
torque.
3. Install new gaskets B and C, and then
tighten the anode plug 0 and plugs D
and E to the specified torques.

Exhaust cover anode plug 0:
18 N·m (1.8 kgf·m, 13.3 ft·lb)
Exhaust cover anode screw A:
2 N·m (0.2 kgf·m, 1.5 ft·lb)
Exhaust cover plug D (M14):
23 N·m (2.3 kgf·m, 17.0 ft·lb)
Exhaust cover plug E (M18):
55 N·m (5.5 kgf·m, 40.6 ft·lb)
