2. Install a new O-ring 4.

Installing the shift rod, oil seal
housing, and drive shaft
Do not reuse a gasket, always replace it
with a new one.
1. Install the shift rod 1, a new gasket 2,
the oil seal housing 3, and the plate 4.

2. Install the forward gear assembly.
3. Install the drive shaft assembly 5 and
pinion 6, and then tighten the nut to the
specified torque.

Drive shaft holder 3 7: 90890-06517
Pinion nut: 50 N·m (5.0 kgf·m, 36.9 ft·lb)
TIP:
When installing the pinion 6, lift up the drive
shaft slightly and align the pinion and drive-
shaft splines.
