Removing the water pump

1. Remove the extension plate 1 (L-tran-
som model), water tube 2, water pump
housing 3, insert cartridge 4, O-ring 5,
and impeller 6.
2. Remove the Woodruff key 7, and then
remove the outer plate cartridge 8.
3. Remove the rubber seal 9 and plate 0.

Checking the water pump

1. Check the water pump housing. Replace
if deformed.
TIP:
If the engine overheated, the inside of the
water pump housing may be deformed.
Therefore, make sure to remove the insert
cartridge when checking the housing.
2. Check the impeller, insert cartridge, and
outer plate cartridge. Replace if cracked
or worn.
3. Check the Woodruff key and the keyway
in the drive shaft. Replace if deformed or
worn.
