Checking the Prime Start

1. Measure the length of the Prime Start
plunger before connecting the battery
leads.
Prime Start plunger length before battery
leads are connected (reference data):
10.7 mm (0.42 in)
2. Connect the special service tool 1.
3. Connect the battery leads, and then
measure the plunger length a.

5 minutes: 14.2 mm (0.56 in)
10 minutes: 14.9 mm (0.59 in) at

Assembling the carburetor

Do not reuse a gasket or O-ring, always
replace it with a new one.
1. Install the pilot jet 1, plug 2, main noz-
zle 3, and main jet 4.

2. Install the needle valve 5, float 6, float
pin 7, and screw 8.

TIP:
• Hook the needle valve 5 onto the tab a on
the float 6, and then fit the needle valve
into the valve seat b.
• Install the float pin 7 into the slots c in the
carburetor body, and then tighten the screw
8 to secure the pin.
