Drive plate screw G:
5.4 N·m (0.54 kgf·m, 3.98 ft·lb)
TIP:
• Make sure to insert the end k of drive pawl
spring 1 into the loop m in drive pawl spring
2.
• Fit the protrusions n on the manual starter
cover into the holes p in the drive plate F.
8. While holding the starter rope 0, turn the
sheave drum B 3 turns counterclock-
wise.
TIP:
Push the starter plunger 3 away from the
sheave drum B while turning the sheave
drum.
9. Remove the starter rope 0 from the slot
d, and then let the sheave drum B turn
slowly so that the starter rope 0 is
wound around the sheave drum B.
TIP:
Make sure to hold the sheave drum B so that
it turns slowly.
10. Install the cover H, and then tighten the
screws I to the specified torque.

1.5 N·m (0.15 kgf·m, 1.1 ft·lb)
11. Pull the starter handle A several times to
check that the sheave drum turns
smoothly and to check the starter rope
for slack.

TIP:
Push the starter plunger 3 away from the
sheave drum while pulling the starter handle
A.

Installing the manual starter

1. Install the manual starter.
2. Connect the start-in-gear
cable 1.
