Checking the oil pan and exhaust
manifold
1. Clean the removed parts.
2. Check the muffler, exhaust manifold, and
exhaust guide. Replace if corroded or
cracked.
3. Check the oil pan. Replace if corroded or
cracked.

Checking the oil strainer

See "Checking the oil strainer" (9-34).

Checking the exhaust guide anode

See "Checking the exhaust guide anode" (9-
34).
Assembling the oil pan and exhaust
manifold
Do not reuse a gasket, oil seal, or rubber
seal, always replace it with a new one.
1. Install a new oil seal. See step 1 in
"Assembling the oil pan and exhaust
manifold" (9-34).
2. Install new gaskets 1 and 2 onto the
exhaust guide 3.
3. Install the cover 4 and oil strainer 5.

4. Install the gasket 6, pipe 7, dowels 8,
and oil pan 9, and then tighten the bolts
0 temporarily.

5. Install a new gasket A, the exhaust man-
ifold B, and a new rubber seal C, and
then tighten the bolts D temporarily.
6. Tighten the bolts D to the specified
torque, and then tighten the bolts 0.
