Disassembling the steering friction

1. Remove the bolts 1.
2. Remove the self-locking nut 2, bolt 3,
and steering lock shaft 4, and then dis-
assemble the friction plate assembly.

Assembling the steering friction

1. Install the steering lock shaft 1 com-
pletely into the steering arm 2, and then
turn out the steering lock shaft 1 turn.

TIP:
Make sure that the portion a of the steering
lock shaft 1 with complete threads around
the shaft does not protrude past the portion
b of the steering arm 2.
2. Install the steering lock lever 3, washer
4, friction piece 5, collar 6, friction
plate 7, friction piece 8 steering lock
washer 9, and bolt 0, and then move
the steering lock lever 3 to the maxi-
mum friction position c.

TIP:
Face the "TOP" mark on the steering lock
lever up.
3. Tighten the bolt 0 and self-locking nut A
to the specified torque.
