TIP:
• Tighten or loosen the friction adjusting nut
with the steering lock lever in the position
a.
• To increase the friction, tighten the friction
adjusting nut 1 in direction c.
• To decrease the friction, loosen the friction
adjusting nut 1 in direction d.
Checking the throttle cable and shift
cable
1. Move the shift lever to the N position and
fully close the throttle grip. (Tiller handle
model)
Move the remote control lever to the N
position and fully close the throttle lever.
(Remote control model)
2. Check that the fully closed stopper a on
the throttle cam 1 contacts the stopper

3. Check that the shift link lever 2 is in the
N position. (Remote control model)

Checking the tilt system (manual tilt
model)
1. Move the tilt lock lever 1 to the release
position a and fully tilt up the outboard
motor. Check that the outboard motor
tilts up smoothly and automatically locks
in 3 positions when it is tilted up.
2. Check that there is no interference with
cables, hoses, or leads when the tilted-
up outboard motor is steered.
