Checking the fuel pump

1. Connect the special service tool 1 to the
fuel pump inlet a.
2. Block the fuel pump outlets b using rub-
ber plugs 2, and then apply the speci-
fied positive pressure. Check that there is
no air leakage.

3. Apply the specified negative pressure
and check that there is no air leakage.

fuel pump outlet with rubber plug 2.

Disassembling the fuel pump

1. Remove the cover 1, diaphragm 2, and
fuel pump body 2 3.

2. Align the slot a in fuel pump body 1 4
with the hole b in the plunger 5 by turn-
ing fuel pump body 1 4.

3. Remove the pin 6 by pushing the
plunger and diaphragm.
