TIP:
• Make sure to install the sleeve with the pro-
trusion d facing forward.
• Do not reuse a shim if deformed or
scratched.
6. While holding the special service tool B,
strike the tool to check that the taper
roller bearing outer race A is installed
properly.

Bearing outer race attachment C:

TIP:
If a high-pitched metallic sound is produced
when the special service tool is struck, the
taper roller bearing outer race A is installed
properly.
7. Install the water inlet covers, and then
tighten the water inlet cover screws to
the specified torque.

1 N·m (0.1 kgf·m, 0.7 ft·lb)

Do not reuse a bearing, always replace it
with a new one.
