Extension nut 4:
39 N·m (3.9 kgf·m, 28.8 ft·lb)
4. Install the dowels 5.
5. Install the lower unit to the upper case,
and then tighten the bolts 6 to the speci-
fied torque.

Lower case mounting bolt (M10) 6:
39 N·m (3.9 kgf·m, 28.8 ft·lb)
TIP:
Make sure that the cooling water pipe 7 is
inserted securely into the cover 8.
6. Connect the speedometer hose 9.
7. Turn the adjusting nut 0 to connect the
shift rods A and B, and then tighten the
locknut C.

TIP:
The adjusting nut 0 must be screwed in 8.0
mm (0.31 in) a or more.

8. Install the anode D and trim tab E.

TIP:
Install the trim tab in the original position.
9. Install the washer F, propeller G,
washer H, and bushing I. Place a block
of wood between the anti-cavitation plate
and propeller to keep the propeller from
turning, and then tighten the propeller nut
J to the specified torque.

34 N·m (3.4 kgf·m, 25.1 ft·lb)
10. Install a new cotter pin K.
